Delete your data

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Anyone can ask SOUNDAR to delete their data. You don't need an account, and it's free.

1. Who this is for

  • Artists who were found or contacted through SOUNDAR, including through public information on their website, YouTube channel or Instagram professional profile.
  • Labels and their team members who use SOUNDAR.

2. Artists: how to ask

  • Fastest: click the opt-out link ("Don't contact me again") in any email you received through SOUNDAR. Tick "Don't let any label contact me through SOUNDAR" to stop every label on SOUNDAR from contacting you, not only the one that wrote.
  • Or email privacy@soundar.app with the subject "Delete my data", and include your artist name and the email address you were contacted on.
  • What we delete: your artist record, your name, your contact email, any demos you uploaded, and the notes and messages linked to you. We keep only a scrambled fingerprint so that you are never contacted again (see section 5).

3. Labels and team members: how to ask

  • Close your account in SOUNDAR's Preferences, or email privacy@soundar.app from your account's email address.
  • What we delete: your account, your label's settings, the artists and demos stored for your label, and your team's comments and votes.

4. What happens next

  • We confirm we got your request within 7 days.
  • Your data is deleted within 30 days. Backups are overwritten within 30 days too.

5. What we keep, and why

  • Artists who opt out (the "Don't contact me again" link): a minimal "do not contact" record (your artist name and the email address), only so that no label can contact you again through SOUNDAR.
  • Artists who ask us to delete their data: no name and no readable email. We keep only a fingerprint of your email address (a keyed hash made with a secret key that only SOUNDAR's server holds; it can't be turned back into your address) and the ID of your artist profile at our music data provider. This lets us recognise you and make sure no label contacts you through SOUNDAR again.
  • Labels with a paid plan: invoices, as French accounting law requires (10 years).

6. Data from Instagram (Meta)

If we hold information from an Instagram professional profile (only a public contact email and the profile link), the same process applies, and we also delete it when Meta asks us to.

7. Contact

Write to privacy@soundar.app for anything about your data. More details are in our Privacy Policy.
